AZINCOURT 1415
Museum to learn more about the Hundred Years War, especially the battle of Azincourt.
The Battle of Azincourt took place on October 25, 1415, during the Hundred Years' War. The French soldiers tried to block the road to the English army. A crushing defeat followed. The French, though greatly outnumbered, relied on their cavalry, which became bogged down in the muddy terrain. The English relied on long-range bows. This confrontation was considered the end of the age of chivalry. More than an account of this battle, the newly opened historical centre shows the impact of the Hundred Years War on the generations that followed.
