With its dome and cupola, 100 m high and positioned off-center, Notre-Dame de Boulogne forms a monumental ensemble that dominates the town. In 1879, Notre-Dame became a basilica. The crypt is one of the largest in France. Its maze of galleries houses the remains of the 12th-century Romanesque church, as well as a treasure trove of sacred art. Every year, a sound and light show retraces the history of Boulogne.

A noter: billet combiné musée + crypte pour un tarif préférentiel!
Les Vierges blanches et noires sont des curiosités à ne pas manquer avec leurs histoires respectives et il est bon de déambuler dans les nefs et le chœur pour y admirer la grandeur de cette cathédrale. Ne pas oublier d'aller visiter la crypte récemment restaurée et qui compte de belles pièces somptueuses : le trésor. Là aussi, passer de salles en salles est un véritable plaisir car il y a maintes découvertes à faire.
Si vous passez par Boulogne, un arrêt en haute ville pour y visiter basilique et crypte est incontournable.
