Bar-brewery with terrace located in North Calais, which serves a house specialty with various meat dishes.
L'Hovercraft, a bar-brasserie located in Calais Nord, is a "monument'" of the city. On 11 June 2011, its cook managed to prepare 106 welshs in one hour: a feat listed in the famous Guinness Book of Records! You'll have understood: the house speciality is welsh! It comes in sixteen varieties: "blue" with cheddar and Roquefort, "Hovercraft" with bacon and rosette, "merguez" with merguez and pepper or "buffalo" with minced meat and onions... and many other variations. The establishment also offers meats, salads, but also a Savoyard corner: the "fondue au camembert" with its plate of charcuterie, potatoes and salad; the "fondue des Clarines"; the homemade tartiflette; the homemade "gratin du Nord" (potatoes with cream and bacon, au gratin with maroilles and served with salad). It changes for the region but it's very good! The place is popular with Calaisians who want to watch sports with friends. Atmosphere guaranteed: the evenings of big matches are memorable! You too, come and enjoy one of the largest terraces in Calais and taste typical dishes in a warm and friendly atmosphere!

If you can book a table in advance that would be better! We walked in and there wasn’t many people however, after we had been seated people start to arrive and all restaurant started getting full!
Enjoy your meal !

I was neither drunk nor abusive! That evening the waitress brought us menus in French and we simply noted that we didn't understand French and asked if she could bring us a menu English or at the very least translate for us. The waitress answered that we could just go if we didn't like it, took away our menus and refused to serve us anything. I'm sorry if we came off as a little bit harsh, since we were very hungry, but we were not impolite to excuse us getting kicked out. We never insulted anybody, weren't drunk and didn't even raise our voices. We didn't make a scene and didn't desturb other customers. Your waitress acted irrationally and I am deeply offended that you first accuse me of being drunk and abusive, before searching in your own restaurant for the problem.
