More than two kilometres of linear archives! The service of the municipal archives preserves all documents for administrative, legal, historical matter emanating from the municipal services of the city. The first of them was signed by King Henry II of France in 1558 to recognise the autonomy of the Calais municipality management. The Archives service also collects archives funds from companies or local associations. It is necessary to reserve the microfilm readers for researches about to civil status. Otherwise, it is possible to show up without appointment.
