Le Courgain was home to dozens of fishing families.
It is the district closest to the ports. Born around the 9th century from a hamlet formed near a natural port, the Courgain gathered dozens of families of fishermen. It remained outside the fortifications built in 1224. Left to looters and storms, the district survived, protected by palisades. After the Second World War, the district was rebuilt. It is regularly the scene of popular festivals such as the festivals of August 15 and the herring.

On peut y prendre un verre au Minck, ou manger Oh Mouettes, et aller jusque la plage pour digérer.
