A forest massif ideal for family walks which was an important theater of the Second World War in Eperlecques.
The forest of Eperlecques is a forest massif of 900 hectares. It was an important theater of the Second World War: the Germans built blockhouses there that were impossible to spot in the eyes of the Allies. The war also shaped the place, the Allied bombing made the relief uneven and puddles appeared in the many bomb holes. Seventy years after these tragic events, you can walk along the hiking trails (2 x 1.5 kilometres), picnic and enjoy the facilities on site: ideal for family outings.
