THE BENEFITARY
This house is the setting for art and craft exhibitions, as well as the archives and documentation center
Nestling close to the church on the Harizmendi square, it's also known as Anderesoraenia. This house was the home of the village benediction (the oldest dates back to 1605, and the last known benediction died out in 1908), according to a custom deeply rooted in the traditional Basque country; religious life revolved around the women who were custodians of the church keys and in charge of maintaining the sanctuary and sacred linens. Today, it is the setting for art and craft exhibitions, as well as an archive and documentation center.
