OLHAIN CASTLE
Typical Northern European plain castle, preserved on its original plans, walk along the moat after the visit.
The castle of Olhain is a precious example of the castles of the plains of Northern Europe. Preserved on its original plans dating from the 13th century, you can visit the interior or walk along the 80-meter wide moat. The building is due to Jean de Nielles, adviser to John the Fearless, who undertook in the 15th century fortification work. It was confiscated by Charles V, underwent the occupation of the Spaniards who blew up two towers. Its eventful history ended in 1900, when it was bought by Mr. Dartois.
