CHURCH OF ARCANGUES
This church has one of the most sumptuous carved galleries in the Basque Country
At the top of the square (don't you think you're in an operetta set?), a visit to the interior of this 13th century church is worth the detour, as it has one of the most sumptuous sculpted galleries in the Basque country: porch, Romanesque door and interior with omnipresent wood, a remarkable gilded altarpiece, a unique nave, a ceramic Way of the Cross, and to the left of the chancel, the small chapel formerly reserved for the Arcangues family. The cemetery of Arcangues shelters in particular the tombs of Pierre d'Arcangues, and of Luis Mariano - under his name Mariano Gonzales.

Allumage du retable payant mais ça vaut le coup d'oeil.
A noter le cimetière attenant est pittoresque et offre un beau point de vue
Pour les fans c'est ici que Luis Mariano est enterré
