THE FOREST OF GUÎNES
A forest where children can let off steam in complete safety, while older children enjoy the serenity of the surroundings.
The state forest of Guines is a beautiful forest of 785 hectares. On foot or by bike, children can play safely while older children enjoy the serenity of the place. Connoisseurs will also appreciate, in season, the wealth of edible mushrooms. It is worth noting that the forest is home to a listed historical site: the Blanchard column, erected at the point of arrival during the first crossing of the English Channel by balloon in 1785. It is reached after a pleasant 3 kilometer hike, on the path called "Bois de Ballon".
