RESTAURANT-BAR GOUAILLARDEU
Typical village inn with a sunny terrace where you can discover a local cuisine with local products.
Gouaillardeu is a typical village inn. Situated in the center of Arette with a sunny terrace, its pearl-gray facade is a real eye-catcher and a must if you want to discover excellent local cuisine. The bright rooms combine modernity and tradition, with antique furniture and a fireplace: the setting is well cared for, and the meals hearty. Because the spirit is generous, it must be said, and the shepherd's platter is very representative: piperade, salad, French fries and cheese are accompanied by a choice of lomo, mutton or duck breasts... you're in for a treat! Local gastronomic jewels are featured on the menu, with charcuterie, ewe's milk cheese and, above all, garbure, served daily. The menu features such fine dishes as salmon croustillant with leek fondue, porcini croustade with fresh foie gras, an excellent duck burger and homemade desserts. The service is fast and efficient; at rush hour, this restaurant is a bustle, but runs smoothly thanks to Marie-Lise. It's a charming place, with customers ranging from regular locals with singing accents to tourists.
