NOTRE-DAME DE BON-SECOURS CHURCH
Neo-Gothic style church of the 19th century replacing an old church, the bell and the statue of Our Lady of Good Help preserved.
Donated by a wealthy family from Hallines, the Dambricourt family, this beautiful building was built in the 19th century in the purest neo-gothic style. It replaced a 12th century church. One will notice the beauty of the stained-glass windows, made at the time by a master glassworker from Paris, and the beautiful stucco paving of the choir, whose medieval decoration represents the signs of the zodiac as well as the different ages of man, the four elements, the seasons, the sun and the moon. The building was dedicated in 1872 to Notre-Dame de Bon-Secours. During the construction, a 13th century statue of this figure of the Virgin Mary was found in the foundations of the old church and must have been buried there during the Revolution. The work is included in the inventory of historical monuments, as is the bell of 1517, which was also recovered from the old church.
