Museum exhibiting military collections assembled since 1919, retracing the history of Harnes from 1900 to 1950.
The Musée d'Histoire et d'Archéologie de Harnes, founded in 1926 by war veterans, exhibits military and archaeological collections. It evokes the two world wars, as well as the Gallo-Roman and medieval history of the region. Classified as a "Musée de France", it is managed by the Association des Amis du Vieil Harnes and has recently benefited from renovations financed by European funds. Open on Wednesdays and Saturdays, tours are also available by appointment.
