The village of Labourse has only 2 000 inhabitants, but its history and heritage make this place an interesting point of visit. Although its name comes from Latin - bursa, a thicket - it appears that its origin is Celtic and not Roman, even if there is certain that there is a Roman construction on these lands. Indeed, with the numerous discoveries of the bronze age, Gallo-Roman objects have been found and vestiges attesting to the presence of such a building. Once again, the operation of a mine pit attracted new inhabitants and the village grew from about inhabitants to about two thousand. Since the close of the well in 1968, the village has been able to start on new bases and now benefit from the important architectural heritage of the church and castle.
