LENS STATION
Lens station of Art Deco style inaugurated in 1927 with a clock tower and mosaics of Auguste Labouret, guided tour proposed.
Inaugurated in 1927, the station, whose shape evokes a locomotive, is resolutely anchored in the Art Deco style of the time, like many buildings in the city that were heavily destroyed after the First World War.
The clock tower represents the chimney and the entrance canopies the wheels. Its eleven independent modules, made of reinforced concrete, rest on hydraulic jacks to prevent mining subsidence. Inside, travelers can admire mosaics by Auguste Labouret. The tourist office offers tours with a guide, ask for information.

Dommage que l aménagement intérieur art déco a été enlevé à l'exception de la magnifique décoration murale. Grande originalité
