LENS STATION
Art Deco Lens station inaugurated in 1927, with a clock tower and mosaics by Auguste Labouret, guided tour available.
Inaugurated in 1927, the station, whose shape evokes a locomotive, perfectly reflects the Art Deco style of the period, as do many of the buildings in the town, which was heavily destroyed at the end of the First World War. The clock tower represents the chimney, and the entrance canopies the wheels. Its eleven independent reinforced concrete modules rest on hydraulic jacks to prevent mining subsidence. Inside, visitors can admire mosaics by Auguste Labouret. The tourist office offers guided tours of the building.

Dommage que l aménagement intérieur art déco a été enlevé à l'exception de la magnifique décoration murale. Grande originalité
