UNION HOUSE
House housing the headquarters of the Pays d'Art et d'Histoire and the Euralens association.
The Maison Syndicale was created after the Courrières disaster in 1906. Destroyed during the First World War, it was rebuilt identically in 1926. At the time, the workers came here to get help from the union. On the pediment, there are pictures of miners at work. A statue of Casimir Beugnet, who devoted his life to improving the living conditions of the miners, stands in the courtyard. Today, the building houses the headquarters of the Pays d'Art et d'Histoire and the Euralens association. Temporary exhibitions are occasionally held there.
