BASE AND SLAG HEAPS 11/19
The Base 11/19, a mining site preserved in the Pas-de-Calais, offers visits with an original and playful approach to heritage.
Visits to the 11/19 base provide an original and entertaining approach to the region's mining heritage. This is one of the four mining sites conserved in the Pas-de-Calais, which offers an almost complete view of what a coal extraction site was like, with the pithead (plot where the shaft is installed), the slag heaps (coal residues) and the mining town where the miners lived. The brave climbers will enjoy an exceptional panorama with the Vimy Memorial and the other slag heaps in the mining basin as a backdrop to Lens.
