Memorial to theWelshwho fought from July 3 to 12, 1916 in Mametz Wood during the Great War.

The Welsh Division Memorial, erected in 1987, honors the3rd Welsh Division, which fought in Mametz Wood from July 3 to 12, 1916, during the First World War. It symbolizes the dragon, representing Wales defending France against the Germans. After 8 days of fierce fighting, the division conquered the village and wood. Since 1994, a commemorative plaque on the war memorial also pays tribute to the Manchester Regiment.
