The Fortress of Mimoyecques, nicknamed the "London Cannon", is a fascinating and emotionally-charged historical site located in Landrethun-le-Nord, Pas-de-Calais. This underground base, designed by Hitler to house a V3 cannon capable of bombing England, bears witness to the scale and folly of the Second World War. Destroyed by the Royal Air Force in 1944, the fortress today offers a breathtaking journey back in time!

Message from Management
The Fortress of Mimoyecques is a historic site of remembrance located in the commune of Landrethun-le-Nord. It is an underground construction designed to house the "super canon V3", a retaliatory weapon that was to bomb London. The Communauté de Communes de La Terre des 2 Caps, a group of 21 communes, is responsible for promoting this memorial site as a tourist attraction. From mid-April to mid-October, it offers guided tours to introduce visitors to the rich past and natural heritage of the fortress. Interesting exhibitions are also held here during this season. Worth a visit!
The information panels inside the tunnels explain everything in several languages and although the path is slightly uneven as expected, there are no steps inside.
This is a place of important history and the staff do a great job of answering any questions. Visit for sure!
