THE REMARKS
The ramparts stretch for 3 kilometers and include round towers, a postern and a bastion.
Montreuil's tree-lined ramparts stretch for 2.5 kilometers, making this a pleasant and accessible walk for all. The first wall was built in the 9th century by Count Helgaud II. The western front is the most scenic part of the route, with five 13th-century round towers, a postern and the so-called Bouillon bastion, near the old Porte de France. The south-east front features two 13th-century round towers. Finish the tour on the northern front and take the Porte de Boulogne back to old Montreuil.
