JEWISH CIMETERY
Jewish cemetery on the edge of the Tannenwald with about 600 graves in rows, simple or decorated with floral motifs
There is no document to accurately date the establishment of the Jewish community in the Rhine Valley, but it is believed to date back to the 4th century. The latter had its own cemetery since 1798, located on the banks of the Tannenwald in the Meisel district. She had previously had to bury her dead in Saverne. A little far from the city, the cemetery has about 600 graves lined up in rows, the majority of which are relatively simple or decorated with floral motifs. The oldest tomb dates from 1799. Today, the place is practically a forgotten site despite its historical interest.
