ST. VAAST CHURCH
An opportunity to visit the impressive Saint-Vaast church to observe its Flemish Renaissance style, located in Sailly
The history of this church is long and eventful. The present building dates from the beginning of the 20th century as it was rebuilt after its total destruction during the First World War. But its origin dates back to the 11th century. After a first partial destruction in the 16th century, the church was rebuilt, but quickly fell into disrepair. It was decided to completely renovate it towards the end of the 19th century; only its tower remained. The church is now an impressive building in Flemish Renaissance style that can be seen and visited.
