SANDELIN HOTEL MUSEUM
Municipal museum presenting works and art objects from the Middle Ages to the 19th century in a Parisian style hotel in Saint-Omer.
Built for the Countess of Fruges in 1776, this Parisian-style mansion has served as the municipal museum since 1904. More than 3,000 works of art and artifacts from the Middle Ages to the 19th century are on display. The museum brings together beautiful paintings and pieces of furniture dating from the 16th, 17th, 18th and early 19th centuries, including paintings by Belly, Chifflart and De Neuville, all from Saint-Omer. Also worth seeing: the Ceramics section and the collection of clay pipes from Saint-Omer.
