BUNKER MUSEUM - THE DOME
It was from the coupole of Helfaut-Wizernes (Second World War bunker) built by the Nazis, that the V 2 rocket had to take off the UK and Belgium. Today, the historic launch base leaves room for a 360 ° projection room with a very high 3 D technology. The films are projected with six video projectors, associated with an astronomical simulator generating very high resolution images. The planetarium has a fairly special structure, with a dome of 15 m in diameter, a 15 ° tilt ground and a type 5.1 sound system. In fact, the immersion of the spectator is very successful. The sessions lasted on average 55 minutes, and began with a space trip commented by the facilitators (about 15 minutes) followed by a thematic film (about 35 minutes).
