LE RELAIS ATLANTIQUE
Le Relais is a network of companies that has been working for more than 30 years to integrate people in situations of exclusion by creating sustainable jobs. A member of Emmaus France and the Inter Réseaux de la Fibre Solidaire (IRFS), he carries within him the values of solidarity defended by Abbé Pierre. Established in 1994, Scop Ebs Le Relais Atlantique currently employs 95 people to collect, sort and market textiles, household linen and second-hand shoes. The integration company has 6 Ding Fring stores in its sector and sells Métisse, a textile insulation made from recycled materials. The Relais Atlantique based in Couëron has a surface area of 4,300 m2. The items are collected in containers. In winter, 8 tons of textiles are collected every day, 17 tons in summer. About 5% of clothing is recycled and sold at low prices to the Ding-Fring network of solidarity clothing stores. 35% is sold to clothing stores abroad. 45% are transformed into rags, and jeans are recycled into thermal insulation! The income generated by donations is used to create jobs for the poor.
