CIRCUIT DU CARNET
Departure from Place Général-de-Gaulle for this 10 km long tour, which can be completed in 2h30 by foot, 45 minutes by bike or 1h30 by horse, in the context of the Loire on horseback. The Moulin Prieur, dating from 1654, offers a magnificent view of the Sillon de Bretagne. In La Cheminandais, you will find yourself in the primitive place of the commune of Frossay, known as Saint-Front. This place having known the Norman looting in the 9th century, the survivors moved to the more remote hill where the current village is located. As for the village of La Roche, the Loire reached the houses before the canal was dug in 1892, which today has become a paradise for fishermen and water sports enthusiasts. After crossing the canal, take the rider: this wide paved path served the meadows south of Île de la Maréchale. Downstream, the lock of the carnet marks the end of the canal de la Basse-Loire. On the outskirts of the picturesque village of La Cruaudais, you will notice the abandoned machinery and the lock house. An ideal circuit for hiking enthusiasts fond of history, or simply for walkers who want to learn a little more about the town.
