The Basque Country's most important festivities, where the whole city dresses up in white and red, with numerous activities.

For five days, as every year in summer since 1932, the whole of Bayonne is dressed in white and red! A typical and unmissable tradition of the South-West and the Basque Country, it is absolutely unthinkable to pass through the region without attending or participating in these extraordinary festivities. On the program, floats of the luminous corso, cow races (respectful of the animals), bullfights, traditional dances and of course the day of the young festayre where all the activities of the adults are adapted to the youngest. The final evening is Sunday when King Leon retires.

Bien que payantes pour les non-bayonnais depuis 2018, ces fêtes restent très, très fréquentées par tout plein de monde en tenue rouge et blanche!! A conseiller: la journée du jeudi pour les enfants, avec corso, musique: très sympa! Cette fête populaire est peuplée de bandas qui donnent le ton de la fête. A éviter pour ceux qui n'aiment ni la foule...ni l'alcool, car celui-ci, disons-le, coule à flot... !

Very surprised to note that no opinion bursted on Petit Futé, so the passion for these Festivals Bayonne concerns madness every year. Things to be said so... But perhaps that everything is told in the bar opens into non-stop and that you prefer to take care not to protest aloud its be wacky " except norme" very, dressed in red and white... Entertainment for all in the open air, surrounded by fireworks worthy of the name and the presence of King Leon of course!
