The King of Bayonne is at the festival! A fair that has existed since 1462 with the annual competition for the best Bayonne Ham.
Since 1462, the Foire au Jambon has been held every year in the heart of old Bayonne. It's an opportunity to meet local producers who offer a wide range of pig products. In the street, under the big top, the atmosphere is joyful and festive! It's a ritual not to be missed, and one that's a big hit with the public every year. 2025 will be the 562nd edition, when members of the Confrérie du jambon and charcutiers use a fine probe to test the cut, drying time and smell. The winning ham is then auctioned off.
