SAINT-ANDRÉ CHURCH
Neo-Gothic style church located in the small Bayonne, a setting for a splendid organ
Located in "Petit Bayonne", near the Château neuf, this neo-Gothic church, whose construction began in 1847 and was completed in 1869, thanks to a donation from a local resident, is in fact on the site of a medieval church and a municipal school that stood there in the 17th century. It originally had two spires, demolished in 1900. Today, a cradle of Basque culture, it is also the setting for a splendid organ (numerous Basque choir concerts), and has been listed as a Monument Historique since 2002.
