A beautiful château steeped in history, located in Mauves-sur-Loire, with a small exhibition of Vernon memorabilia.

The history of this historic site began in 1526 with the grotte des faux-monnayeurs, after which merchants made it their holiday home. Then Mathilde Verne, sister of Jules Verne, lived here with her husband Victor Fleury, mayor of Mauves and a botany enthusiast. From 1936 to 2000, it was used as a hospital. Today, it is the property of the association that is rehabilitating the site. It's well worth a visit for its architecture and botanical wealth.

Un lieu superbe avec des arbres rares et magnifiques, un guide passionnant que vous ne lâchez pas d’une oreille tant ses commentaires et anecdotes sont enrichissants ! Une équipe de bénévoles accueillante et chaleureuse ! Un parc où l’on peut se poser avec son picnic à l’ombre des arbres centenaires, profiter d’un des nombreux bancs pour lire un livre dans un cadre enchanteur et savourer les différents spectacles proposés tout au long de la saison…. Une invitation au voyage dans un écrin fabuleux.
