Enjoy 100% homemade sandwiches, made from fresh and local ingredients in Nantes.
Have you ever heard of Paws, a curious name with American connotations, and with good reason: it's the name of those famous "hot dogs" better known as hot dogs! And it's right here in Nantes that you can enjoy these 100% homemade sandwiches, 100% "LA" Loire-Atlantique. These specialties are revisited using fresh, local ingredients and organic flours for the delicious rolls. Enthusiasts Vincent (chef) and Ben are the happy creators of Paws, an address that celebrated its 6th anniversary in 2023. The restaurant has moved to the Ile de Nantes from the "kiosko" on rue de la Tour-d'Auvergne, with its beautiful spaces and seating close to the Machines de l'île. This snacking concept has restored the "hot dog" to its former glory, and people are literally rediscovering the pleasure of tasting these gourmet sandwiches... The success of this great-tasting sandwich is obviously based on the choice of good raw materials: soft brioche breads and artisanal pork sausage from Franck Chevalier (44). Try the Classic dog with homemade bread, fried onions, fresh herbs, homemade sausage, ketchup and mustard. The Curry Paws is excellent with red curry sauce, parmesan, zucchini pickles, fried onions, fresh herbs, spicy mayo and, of course, sausage. Or the Korean version with the Kimchi dog topped with a superb shiitake confit sauce, kimchi (fermented cabbage), sesame... or the Onion dog... Vegetarian Paws are also available, including vegan versions: just ask! The pair also cater for outdoor events with the help of their carrier bike. What's new for 2021 is the new address, with bistro-style cuisine based on fresh, largely organic produce, as well as tapas, a bar and weekend DJS evenings.
