LA SALLE A MANGER
A cuisine based on fresh products, seafood and traditional dishes in Nantes.
At 54 Rue des Hauts Pavés, there is a "restaurant" out of the ordinary, an astonishing "dining room" since it has the distinctive feature of being within the own house of Jean-Luc and Isabelle. You come here for lunch at lunchtime on weekdays (and some evenings) in all simplicity. For that, you just need to push the red door of the house and settle down. Welcome to their premises! At La Salle à Manger, you will find a cuisine prepared with fresh ingredients. Every Tuesday, seafood is honoured, every Wednesday, the roasted free-range chicken and its homemade French fries, Thursday, traditional dishes are simmered: French lamb stew, boeuf bourguignon or veal blanquette. As a starter, it's up to you to choose among the oysters of Paimpol, the terrine of smoked tuna, or oil potatoes and smoked herring... But the house's specialty is grill: roasted Orloff pork, veal shoulder, roasted lamb, sausage with muscadet, tournedos, pan-fried duck breast, suckling pig, 7-hour leg, sautéed prawns. The desserts are also worth the detour with the roast fruit of the day, the Nantes cake or the pear-chocolate pie. In some evenings, parties are organised with gourmet dinner concerts, grourmet dinners or interdependent dinners for the benefit of local associations. Of course, La Salle à Manger can be privatized for any other occasion (birthday, private party...), Jean-Luc is caterer!
