ONPL ORCHESTRE
Another promising program for the ONPL's 2024-2025 season. With water as the common thread, Viennese conductor Sascha Goetzel takes his troops on a voyage that is as fluid as it is inspiring. The season features 35 programs (19 in Angers, 16 in Nantes). On the menu: Mozart, Chopin, Ravel, Brahms, Mendelssohn, Dvorak, Vivaldi, Schubert, Wagner, Mahler, Rachmaninov... The great symphonic repertoire to delight our ears, but also operas, contemporary works, film music, concerts for young audiences... The season opens in September with Orff's Carmina Burana. In November, don't miss the festival dedicated to Beethoven (concertos, symphonies, chamber music). Christmas concert fans can look forward to Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker and Saint-Saëns' Christmas Oratorio. At the New Year's concert, they can prolong the pleasure with Bernstein's West Side Story, in a film-concert version. Children's concerts include Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf, superbly narrated by singer Dominique A. But also the Chaplin and Laurel & Hardy ciné-concerts. Another eagerly-awaited stopover: Verdi's La Traviata, in January-February-March. Followed by La mer, a program featuring Debussy, Beethoven and von Zemlinsky. In a different style, the Latin rhythms of the So brass ensemble promise a breathtaking moment in April. In short, the cruise promises to be a delightful one.
