UN PAVE DANS LA VIGNE
Just a stone's throw from Place Viarme, in its continuity, taking the small one-way street in this friendly district of the Hauts-Pavés, it is at 46 of the street that we recommend a stop that is both gourmet and oenological. No fighting here, no paving stones are thrown into the pond but into the vineyard! This play on words is certainly a nod to the love of good wine embodied here by Barbara, who runs the cellar, and who is also at the service, associated with Rémi, his other passion in life, himself a chef. The terroir, the stones, the earth, a selection of quality suppliers for good bistro cuisine and it's won! And as the restaurant also has a wine cellar, it's the possibility to taste in afterwork these beautiful bottles on the spot or to take away! During the week, at lunchtime, including Saturdays, Rémi treats us with his bistro formulas: we can enjoy canned ravioli, tuna tartare, grilled octopus, which he masters to perfection. The "bon manger" is also the chef's specialities such as his foie gras with pommeau de Bretagne (Brittany pommel) or salmon gravlax, or VG, a curry of frika (potato cake) and kasha (roasted buckwheat). Gourmets will taste the chocolate fondant. The Cellar is open from 4pm to 7.45pm: it is the new corner to taste afterwork boards and discover the wines that Barbara recommends you with a will to democratize, to explain the grape varieties, the terroirs... She speaks to us with her communicative enthusiasm about her favourites by thematizing them: wines for every day, festive wines, wines of the winegrowers. A chinon, a burgundy 2018 from a winegrower, but also chablis, sancerre and of course wines from the Pays de la Loire region.
A "high peak" passion in this rue des Hauts-Pavés! To be discovered!
