SOCIÉTÉ D'ASTRONOMIE DE NANTES
If it was in August 1971 that the Société d 'astronomie de Nantes was officially created to promote astronomy and related activities, there was actually a trace of its existence at the end of the nineteenth century under the impetus of the illustrious Camille Flammarion, already behind the creation of the Society Astronomical of France! That's why the SAN enjoys a beautiful brand image as much as it still appears today particularly active on the front of astronomy through its conference cycles accessible to all, its animations, and its evening observations organized throughout the year called Ciels de Nantes! These observations are made through glasses and telescopes installed in the city in the Grand Blottereau Park (Boulevard Auguste-Peneau), well protected from the direct city lights! However, given global light pollution, the choice in the celestial targets pointed is necessarily limited to the brightest, Moon and planets. But there's something to do and the neophyte finds its account by looking happily at the lunar craters or discovering Saturn's rings for the first time.
