The Regional Council has 93 elected members, headed by Christelle Morançais since October 2017. The Pays de la Loire administration, made up of more than 3,000 agents, is at the service of the daily life of the people of the Loire: transport, education, training, apprenticeship, social integration, economic development, regional planning, culture, research, innovation, guidance, employment, high schools, territorial balance, management of European funds, energy and the environment, sport and heritage. It also has exclusive competence in terms of aid to businesses. In addition, the Region participates in the rehabilitation of social housing and encourages the creation of housing for students. With its recognisable signature: "L'esprit grand ouvert", which reflects a philosophy of thought and action, the Region carries out numerous actions at international and local level in various support schemes for economic, social, technological, cultural, associative and educational initiatives.
