A centerpiece of the nantes built heritage, the Natural History Museum is the addition of the former mint hotel (built between 1821 and 1826) and new buildings that were built of the Mint from 1868. The Natural History Museum was inaugurated on August 19, 1875 at the conference of the French Association for the Advancement of Science, then one of the first to be installed in a building built specifically for him. Thereafter, an extension is made on the adjacent building of the old currency. It was in 1955 that the vivarium was created, which is still the happiness of the big and small. The museum is both temporary exhibitions and permanent collections.
