Nantes Métropole Aménagement is a Société Publique Locale (SPL) acting as a public operator in the development of urban areas, the construction of public or economic buildings and the management of commercial real estate. Created by the elected representatives of Nantes Métropole and 19 of its communes, the SPL is a private company operating under private law. It is involved in the urbanization of new or redeveloped districts (28 development concessions), the provision of land or the development of commercial real estate (31,000 m² of net floor area per year over the last 5 years), the provision of land for housing (760 housing units per year over 2007-2011) and for public facilities (3,700 m² of net floor area per year), the construction of public facilities (14 buildings in 5 years), the management, marketing and promotion of business real estate (250 tenants and over 1,000 jobs in 29 buildings), support and assistance for certain companies (advice and services). The company's mission is to make the urban area accessible to as many people as possible, and to offer an alternative to urban sprawl in new districts. Over the past few years, 33% of our housing production has been for social rental, 23% for affordable housing reserved for first-time buyers, 35% for affordable housing, and 7% for various types of residence (EHPAD, FJT, etc.).
