The CHU comprises 9 sites. In the city center, the Hôtel-Dieu and the mother-and-child hospital; nearby, the Le Tourville building; to the south, the Saint-Jacques hospital and, within it, the Maison Pirmil; to the north, in Saint-Herblain, the Hôpital Nord Laennec; the Bellier hospital; to the northwest, the Maison Beauséjour and, to the east, in Carquefou, the Hôpital de la Seilleraye. A new CHU (university hospital), which will overhaul the range of services on offer, is due to open on the Île de Nantes in 2026.
