CIRCUIT DE SAINT-GILDAS-DES-BOIS
Trail of pines, the road book of the trail is available at the tourist office, town hall and press tobacco of Super U. Departure is set at the campsite of the site of Bernugat, but from the Place of the Church (take left of the town hall and the street on the left, right after the hairdressing salon). Continue straight, the coast leads to a road, turn right and it's Bernugat. The circuit goes on the edge of the forest. Saint-Gildas was then surrounded by wood that had been cleared. The lande took their place and then maritime pines, planted under Louis-Philippe d'Orléans in 1800, which were very well adapted to the poor and acidic soil. We see an old career, now closed, a few chestnut trees and the lande that are recognized for its vegetation: the ajonc of Europe, the callune, the hidden heather. The view reveals the steeple of the abbey church of St. Gildas-des-Bois and, in the distant weather, the bridge of Saint-Nazaire.
Return to Bernugat.
