VOYAGER 3 ASTRONOMIE
The history of this beautiful observatory begins in the 1990 s with the first Nights of Stars which evoke a strong enthusiasm of astronomy enthusiasts and the audience who come to observe in number. In 1994, Voyager 3 astronomy club was created under the tutelage of the city's secular friendship, which it later separated. A few years later, the club became partner of the Astronomical Society of France. In 2007, the project to build an astronomical observatory is on the way to the town of Severac: A 5 m diameter dome will house a 314 mm diameter telescope. A year later, the dedicated dome and local space are finished. Over the years, improvements are being made and a new telescope (430 mm) is installed, now automatically piloted. Voyager 3 offers evening presentations for all audiences several times in the year, structured around two axes, a presentation on a particular astronomical theme (depending particularly on current events) and observations strictly speaking. Severac enjoys a very suitable sky north of Pontchteau and Saint-Gildas-des-Bois: The observations of the main objects of the deep sky are therefore possible, provided that there is a night near the new moon.
