La Closerie des Roses is located on the banks of the Loire opposite Saint-Florent-le-Vieil and its abbey church. The setting is magical. Chef Jean-Marc Terrien, a master restaurateur and member of the Collège Culinaire de France, places great emphasis on local produce. The menu evolves with the seasons and the market. For the main course, eels and roasted pollack with cabbage embeurrée and beurre blanc challenge free-range lamb, Paimpol cocos and confit tomatoes. And to conclude, there's nothing like a little lightness with the raspberry soufflé. A very good address.
