Restaurant-cave-grocery-tea room with fine specialties such as palette of beef in beurre blanc sauce.
This restaurant, which also doubles as a cellar-grocery-tea room, lives up to its name. Chef Pierre Chatalain takes pleasure in telling us culinary stories. Starting with his specialty, the palette de bœuf sauce beurre-blanc de Philou le Nantais, a nod to his uncle who ran a restaurant under the Cheviré bridge. There's also Grandpa Bob's cannelés and his partner Jean-Frédéric's Liège waffle. With its old collector's advertising posters, the décor plunges us into a nostalgic world where we feel at home. You can leave with a tea towel or apron (gift idea). All bon vivants are sure to return!

I was on the road and needed a coffee. The coffee was fine but it was the cookie that was extraordinary! As an American, I know cookies. This homemade recipe was inspired by a visit to America by the chef's wife. No offense to my own country, but we need to step up our game in cookie making. The depth of flavors in this cookie was exceptional. Great job! I hope to return someday for a meal
