Created in 1950, the Festival d'Anjou is France's2nd-largest open-air theater festival, after Avignon! Held at the Château du Plessis-Macé, the Toussaint cloister and the Doué-la-Fontaine arena, the event welcomes some twenty new productions each year at the start of summer, including plays from the classical repertoire, vaudeville, recitals and shows for young audiences... A top-notch program, which in recent years has featured such great names as Laurent Lafitte, Catherine Hiegel, Daniel Auteuil, Gérard Jugnot, Catherine Frot...
