13th century fortress with various medieval buildings and gardens in Angers

A 13th-century fortress built on a slate hillside, it houses medieval buildings and a variety of gardens, including a hanging vegetable garden, rose garden and vineyard. You can also admire the famous Apocalypse tapestry, listed in UNESCO's Memory of the World register on May 18, 2023, and the largest preserved tapestry in the world: 100 meters of embroidered fabric. Themed tours are available all year round. Access to the château is via the pretty Bout du Monde promenade.

Beautiful castle both inside and outside, gardens very well maintained without forgetting the ramparts accessible to take beautiful photos. Panoramic view of the city of Angers and the river.

A true emblem of the city! Not miss the visit of the castle with the famous tapestries of the Apocalypse, the view on Angers from the ramparts and in front of the castle the promenade of the end of the world to enjoy the views on Maine
