Jo Moraiz was a pioneer in this field, and can be credited with bringing surfing to Biarritz in the 1960s. He created the1st surf shop before setting up the1st surf school in 1966, still world-renowned today. He is credited with inventing the first and only teaching method subsequently adopted by the Federation as the basis of training for federal and state certification.
