ÉGLISE SAINT-CHARLES

The church is dedicated to Saint-Charles, the patron saint of Mr. Hézard, founder of the Briscous salt mines. The laying of the first stone dates back to 1848. In a neo-Romanesque style, the building has three vaulted naves and a bell tower in the front, the stained glass windows being the work of the glassmaker Mauméjean. In 1923, an organ was inaugurated and rebuilt in 1985. Many organists come to accompany the celebrations and concerts. Unfairly ignored, it offers nevertheless a beautiful architecture of the end of the XIXth century, with its elegant bell tower.
