PROMENADE LES CERCLES DES PIERRES
This hike begins and ends at the chapel of Houndas near Bilhères. This walk, for all levels, very often used by families, offers a breathtaking view of the valley and the plateau of Benou. It leads to the cromlechs, prehistoric stone circles, before descending to the stream and woods. Archaeological excavations have been carried out on these sites and have identified not only traces of civilization dating back at least 3,000 years, but also traces of burials dating back to the early days of Christianity near the chapel of Houndas. This beautiful route is steeped in history. To learn more about the history of the excavations, you can then visit the Arudy Museum, which displays the results of this research.
