BRINE CASTLE
Follow the footsteps of King René, who lived in these places. Castle Palace of the Dukes of Anjou in the th and th centuries, the Castle of Saumur is the latest example of the princely palaces erected by the Valois Dynasty. Residence of the city's governors, prison, and then deposit of arms and ammunition, it was bought by the City in 1906 to host the municipal museum, now Musée de France.
There are several collections in the old apartments of the Dukes of Anjou and in the abbey in a didactic value. Duration of the visit 45 mn at 1 h 30. During the day, animations and a magnificent Sound and light are offered (read the Discovery section).
