THE MEDIEVAL CITY

It impresses with its state of conservation, but also because it dominates the Erve of its 70 m high. Sainte-Suzanne and its fortifications stand on a rocky spur. The slope is breathtaking on many sides of the city. We understand better why it is the only city to have held Guillaume the Conqueror in failure. A walk around the ramparts makes it possible to learn about the landscape: fortified towers, murderers and other ramparts. The point of view on the hamlet of the River and its mills, the méandres of the Erve, all this is remarkable. Then it is good to get lost in the small streets and discover this particular atmosphere in medieval cities.
